Before any part of the demolition project is done, DMR Demolition takes careful preparations to ensure the safety or all workers involved and all other individuals in the vicinity of the project.  An experienced person or persons in all phases of the demolition will conduct the demolition planning.

Prior to starting the demolition, an engineer will survey the project to assess the condition of the framing, floors and walls to prevent premature collapse of the structure. We thoroughly plan for the demolishment of the structure, equipment needed, and informing the workers of the hazards and safety requirements and safety to the public. The survey process is an important tool to determine if there are any hazardous fibers, chemicals, gases, explosives or flammable materials that used or stored at the work site. This is in order to prevent a health hazard to the public and property. Examples are included but not limited to:

  • Asbestos
  • Containing Materials,
  • Fine dust particles
  • Lead-based paint products used in the initial construction.

Utility and Service companies must be notified prior to the demolition. In addition prior to demolition electric, gas, sewer, water, overhead and steam lines must be located by a professional and shut off, capped, or controlled.
